Being a fellow Mysorean/Bangalorean I read ...Hello:
Being a fellow Mysorean/Bangalorean I read your comments with interest and I agree with them.
Passive acceptance of the status quo regarding religion by most progressive Dharmis is not the correct stance. This is plays into the hands of those politicians as well as so called "intellectuals" who parrot the same things over and over again hoping tht they will become "true" and accepted. Some of these mis-statements are:
1. There were nomadic tribes from Central Asia called the Aryans who came and settled in India and defeated the local indigenous tribes called Dravidians. Now historical and DNA evidence supports the theory that two groups of people went out from India, the second many thousand of years later, the first overland to Australia and second to Central Asia splitting into two somewhere near Uzbekhistan, one heading West into Turkey and Europe and the other East into China.
2. There was an Indo-European Language that Sanskrit and other Indic and many European languages evolved from. If so, how come no traces are remaining whatsoever of that language and Sanskrit is the only remaining one?
3. Any of the contributions made from India is due to "imported" people or ideas.... the musical scales, literature and novels, dramas etc. (the Indian dramas are earlier than Greek Dramas), Indian novels such as Brhatkatha, Dasakumaracharita etc. are way earlier than Chaucer or any Western counterparts (yes the Mahabharata and Ramayana are earlier than the Iliad and Aenid or the Sagas).

All this does not mean that we complacently sit back and say "Hogli Bidu" but we have to slowly but surely have to push back ... not by silly goondas bashing up couples holding hands (Incidentally, St. Valentine was impaled on the cross for getting a whole bunch of Roman soldiers to marry their girlfriends) or screeching in public like many in the BJP do. This response should not be political but people with good reputations like the Infosys guys and others who have proved themselves should promote debates and get to the facts .... we should be prepared to accept what is known factually, what are theories and what is just superstition and humbug.Typo Sultanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04085436004565187518noreply@blogger.com
